Creating Special Moments of Celebration
February 26, 2021
Growing up, celebrations were a big deal in my family. Whether it be a birthday, holiday, or an accomplishment, no gathering was complete without fina china, vintage linens, well thought out decor, LOTS of delicious food and centerpieces of fresh cut flowers from a family member's yard (usually made by our Aunt Janie, the professional florist). Earlier this month, we finally got to celebrate Christmas and my sister's and nephew's birthdays with my parents. We didn't want a Christmas tree in sight! After what seemed like a long, dark winter, fresh flowers seemed more appropriate for our celebration. We sat around the table, thankful for the blessings of the past year, but also planning and dreaming for what God has in store for us next! Like so many, we have had our share of heartache over the last several months, but the flowers reminded me of this verse–"Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." Psalm 30:5b At the end of the day, this is why we do what we do. Because "the joy that comes with the morning" is to be celebrated. We love helping people create special moments of celebration because we believe life is a gift, and despite all the times it tries to knock us down it really is worth celebrating!
